ACTIVE GOALS AND PROJECTS
The Foundation will support a scholarship at Charity Preschool in Pungo, Virginia. Charity Preschool is not just the school that Hudson attended, it is where he learned, jumped, painted, read stories, made friends, prayed, loved and was loved. In order for others to experience the warm embrace of this special school which Hudson loved, the Foundation will create a scholarship in Hudson’s name for children whose families would otherwise not have the resources to send them to Charity Preschool.
Among the immediate goals of the Foundation is to build a fantastic playground in Hudson’s name at Charity Preschool. Starting with a local fundraiser being held on February 10 at Blue Pete’s Pungo, the Foundation will raise funds to renovate the playground where Hudson spent so many happy hours. Hudson’s Playground—as the new space will be called—will be a place that children can enjoy for years to come.
February 10, 2019 Pungo Fundraiser
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. The Pungo community came together to honor Hudson Robert Foschi and his family on February 10, 2019. The Hudson Strong Foundation partnered with the owners of Blue Pete’s restaurant, Aristotle and Nick Cleanthes, and held a fundraiser to build a new playground at Charity Preschool in his honor, and it will be named HUDSON’S PLAYGROUND.
“This one hit our community pretty hard and it’s humbling to see how much rallying and support has come out for this” said Aristotle Cleanthes.
“The name of the playground is going to be called ‘Hudson’s Playground’; that’s what a majority of the money were generating is going towards” said Nick Cleanthes. “It has touched everybody in the community personally so we felt the need to give them the opportunity to make a difference and help out” Cleanthes added.
The event was a huge success—hundreds of people attended and enjoyed the celebration, coming together to remember Hudson and to contribute to his legacy. The event included both a silent auction and live auction with tons of incredible and meaningful items donated by the community.
Live music was provided by local artist Jeffery Lewis.
Hudson Strong merchandise was available for purchase and the crowd turned into a sea of Hudson Strong sweatshirts and tees. Limited merchandise is still available for purchase at Blue Pete’s in Pungo to support the Foundation.
The event raised a tremendous amount of money to establish Hudson’s Playground. Any additional money will be used to support a scholarship at Charity Preschool, the school that Hudson attended and loved.
